The Lightcone Institute aims to foster the understanding of the internal organization of scientific research and its embedding into our society. Our research is dedicated to the interaction of social and natural sciences in general, and the management of science and communication of scientific results to the public in particular.
 | The lightcone of an event in space and time that we perceive as “now” consists of two parts: the past lightcone, containing everything that influenced what happens now, and the future lightcone, consisting of every event that can be influenced.
